Archie Goodwin is just so much fun! That's what he says in the 'Red Box':

'Fundamentally I am a direct type, and that's why I can never be a really fine detective. Although I keep it down as much as I can, so it won't interfere with my work, I always have an inclination in a case of murder to march up to all the possible suspects, one after another, and look them in the eye and ask them, 'Did you put that poison in the aspirin bottle?' and just keep that up until one of them  says, 'Yes'. As I say, I keep it down but have to fight it.

2. 'Twenty Thousand Leagues under the sea'/'King Solomon's mines' - Captain Nemo/young Quatermaine . THIS has got to be explosive.

3. Jurassic Park/Bones - Alan Grant/Billy Brennan. Billy turns out to be Tempy Brennan's brother.

4. Wellington/James Duff - why did Wellington present Duff with Tippoo's jewelled sword? :D

5. Stargate: Atlantis/Stargate: SG-1 - Dr. McKay is an descended Ancient and Dr. Jackson knows about it. Preferably with some Mcshep thrown in.

6. Criminal Minds/Dexter crossover. Cause come on! He is a serial killer and they catch'em! :D Not Dexter though, he must evade them.

7. Sharpe/Zorro crossover - Allende's Zorro that is. :D Especially I'd love to see a scene of Wellington and Sharpe enduring the 'foolish' Spanish Don who is in fact... YES! You guessed right! ZORRO. XD

8. Peter the Great/Menshikov

9. Sharpe/Golden Age detective fiction fusion. :D

10. The Pretender/Life on Mars/Sharpe crossover. The details break my brain. XD

Awww, Archie Goodwin! Your making me crave my Nero Wolfe books and they are all in storage halfway across Canada.

*hug* Don't you ever get a feeling that whereas Goodwin is a sort of a 'hard-boiled' detective fiction construct, Wolfe is like one of the Golden Age English detective ones? :D If you can understand my rambling. x_x

I understand perfectly! I've always felt that the Nero Wolfe books are a marriage of Golden Age with hard-boiled detective fiction. I think because Stout started writing in the thirties when Golden Age was in it's heyday and hard-boiled was just becoming a popular style...

God, I'm so glad I was not hallucinating. :D They are just so fun! Have you seen the series? Are they any good? I watched them ages ago and don't remember at all. x_x
