 Today, for the first time in seven years I drove a car for almost four hours (with two substantial breaks). This was occasioned  by the fact that I now actually have a car, which we picked up this morning from the dealer's. I was rather terrified throughout, but I am booked for a couple of sessions with an instructor this week (and more the week after, I am sure), so here is hoping for some actual patient instruction, rather than us having a shouting match as I freak out over the concept of roundabouts. XD

Roundabouts are easy: Stop. Look to your right to see if anything's coming. Wait for a gap in the traffic or a car blocking traffic on as it turns off up the road you've just come down. Pull out. Indicate left as you pass the junction before the one you're taking.

Easy.

Congrats on the car. What it is? (Make, model, colour... name, if it has one. :D )

In principle it is, but since for me this was the first time driving over them: TERRIFIED. I know of exactly two in my home town, and I've never had occasion to drive though them when I passed my driving test waaaay back.

Nah, it feels more badass than Sherlock. Less in your face genius and more silent know it all, see it all, kill some of them. xD

I am certain, a few sessions with an instructor (who is not your husband). You should mention this particular part to the instructor, so they will know how to best help.

Also, driving four hours is quite an achievement! Well done, you!

Oh, God, I did mention everything and than he got me to overtake a lorry at 80 mph and I didn't have a heart attack! XD Though I did go cold...

Wow! That was good! And here I thought Britain has a speed limit of 70mph? I will keep fingers crossed, but I know you can do this. :)

It is 70 mph but I was accelerating too slowly before that, so the instructor told me to floor it. XD
